A cheesehead from the University of Wisconsin, Dave enjoys shelling on the beaches of Sanibel, getting caught in the rain, and playing man of the house to his five girls including his wife, daughters, and German Shepherds Shelby and Schatzi. Previously, he could be found imbibing his favorite style of beer (a West Coast IPA) on any given Sunday at the back bar table of South Street in Naples, Florida, but now he’s partial to the corner high top in our new tap room. Norm!
A native Florida cracker and graduate of University of Florida, this life-sized Ken doll enjoys fishing and hunting, wrestling the occasional alligator, and running marathons. A devoted dad, John spends his weekends watching girls’ volleyball—both his daughter’s team and the Florida Gators. In fact, John watches all Gator sports (Badminton, anyone?). He also has two sons, one in college and the other in high school. Both have grown into big, strong young men who have more facial hair than their father, which is a lot for any dad to wrap their head around. For John, nothing beats a refreshing light German lager and afternoon spent basking in the orange and blue.

Yet another Florida cracker and the mastermind behind the art of craft beer brewing at Bone Hook, Jason has been at this gig the longest out of our crew. He got “hooked” 17 years ago (in 2000) after purchasing his first home brew kit. When asked what led him to where he is today, he says it was a blend of love for the great outdoors, long hazy afternoons listening to Grateful Dead, too much orange and blue bleeding through from his days at University of Florida, and an unyielding quest to craft the best American ale. In Jason’s past time, you can find him camping at Cayo Costa, backwater fishing, perfecting the perfect yin-yang tie-dye for his latest plain white t, and performing sun salutations. If you ask him to choose between pool or pond, you can bet pond will always win.
If Ben Kenobi brewed beer, his name would be Josh Deitner. With more passion and precision than all of the Bone Hook team combined, this Jedi of Brews conceives some of the best beers in the world, including his previous award-winning Shanghai Brewery Imperial American Brown Pale Ale which took home the Silver Medal from the 2015 US Open Beer Competition and his Shanghai Brewery North Star IPA which snagged a Silver Medal at the Australia International Beer Awards in 2015. On a normal day, Josh can be found in the Bone Hook laboratory whispering to yeast as sweetly as he sings to his young children.
A hospitality veteran, Michelle’s fun-loving, can-do attitude breathes life into Bone Hook’s daily tap room operations and distributor sales. Whether she’s sneaking in a game of cornhole before opening hours, holding court with local restaurateurs as they pair their tasting menus with Bone Hook’s latest craft brews, or emceeing our annual Hook ‘Em shindig, you’ll quickly learn that Michelle is Bone Hook’s Jill of all trades.
